Prerequisites

  • You should have already created and structured your course content, including sections, lessons, and media, as covered in 'Part 1: Building Your Course Structure'.

Steps

Step 1: Choose Your Course Pricing Mode

First things first, let's decide how your wonderful course will be sold! You have two fantastic options: 'Standalone' or 'Membership Gated'. If you choose 'Standalone', your course will have its own individual price. If you opt for 'Membership Gated', your course will be accessible only to those who purchase a specific membership plan. If you go with Membership Gated, you'll simply select the membership group and plan you want to attach. There's also an optional Membership Page you can select. Once you've made your choice, don't forget to save the Pricing Mode!

Step 2: Manually Enroll Your First Attendees

Now, let's get your first students into your course! You can add members directly from the 'Attendees' tab in your course dashboard. Click on 'Add Attendee', and you'll see two clear choices: either add someone already in your contact list, or click 'Add New Attendee' to fill in their details from scratch. Super simple! Once they're added, you'll see their details pop up in your attendee table. You're doing great!

Step 3: Preview Your Course Through a Member's Eyes

It's always a good idea to see things from your member's perspective! To preview their experience, just click the 'eye' icon next to an attendee. This will take you to their member profile, where you'll see your course beautifully listed. Click into the course, and you'll see how your lessons and media are presented, just as your students will. This is a fantastic way to ensure everything looks perfect!

Step 4: Understand Activity Completion and Resubmission

As you're previewing, notice how members will interact with your content. They can upload homework or mark activities as complete right from the course section. Once an activity is done, they'll simply hit 'Publish' or 'Finish'. You'll see the course marked as successfully completed! And if you've enabled the 'Repeat Activity' option, they can even resubmit their work. This flexibility is awesome for learning!

Step 5: Set Up Public Enrollment for Easy Access

Beyond manual enrollment, your members can also easily check out for your course directly from the public view! This means they can discover your course on your public-facing pages and sign up all on their own. We'll explore this seamless public enrollment path next, ensuring your course is easily accessible to everyone ready to learn from you! ✨

Tips & Best Practices

  • Always test the enrollment process yourself from the public view to ensure a smooth experience for your members.
  • Consider offering both Standalone and Membership Gated options if your platform allows, to cater to different customer preferences and expand your reach.
  • Encourage your members to actively engage by highlighting the benefits of completing activities and offering clear, supportive instructions.
  • Use the preview function frequently to ensure your course looks and functions perfectly for your students – their success is your success!

Troubleshooting

If your course isn't appearing for members, first double-check that you've correctly assigned the course to them or that their membership plan includes access. Also, ensure the course itself is set to 'Published' and not accidentally still in 'Draft' mode! If members are having trouble finding the 'Mark Complete' button, revisit your lesson content to make sure it's clearly visible and easy to click. A quick screenshot in your course introduction might be a friendly reminder!

What's Next

Fantastic work! Now that your course is fully set up, it's time to promote it and welcome your first students! Start by crafting compelling marketing messages, creating exciting launch content, and sharing your amazing new offering with your audience. Consider setting up an automated onboarding email sequence for new students to guide them through their learning journey!
